Tips for a successful newborn Sessions
Babies with full tummies sleep MUCH longer!
Babies are incredibly sensitive beings, and their level of comfort plays a significant role in their behavior during a photoshoot. One of the essential elements to consider is ensuring that your baby has a full tummy before the session begins. When babies are well-fed, they tend to be more relaxed and content, which can lead to a smoother and more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
it's recommended to stimulate your baby at least two hours before the scheduled arrival. Engaging in playtime and offering a warm bath can help set a calming atmosphere for your little one. Additionally, feeding your baby before the photoshoot starts can create the "milk-drunk" stage, where babies are in a deep sleep after a satisfying meal. This stage is ideal for capturing adorable and peaceful poses that will melt your heart..
Even with the best preparations, babies may still get hungry during the photoshoot. It's essential to be flexible with the schedule and be prepared to feed your baby whenever they need it. Babies' needs come first, and a few hours off the usual feeding schedule won't negatively impact the overall session. On the contrary, a well-fed baby is likely to be more cooperative and less fussy, making the entire experience much smoother and more enjoyable for all.
Posing a baby for photographs requires careful consideration and a focus on the baby's comfort and safety. During the session, it's crucial to ensure that the baby burps after feedings to prevent discomfort caused by trapped air in their little tummies. This simple step can help the baby feel more relaxed and at ease, enabling the photographer to capture the most precious and endearing moments with ease.
By prioritizing the baby's comfort and catering to their needs, you're not only ensuring a smoother photoshoot but also creating a nurturing and positive environment for your baby.
Please be patient!
Please RELAX and be patient!
I cannot emphasize enough the significance of patience during a newborn photoshoot. Babies are sensitive beings, and their emotions can be influenced by the atmosphere around them. If parents become stressed, the baby can also become stressed, making it more challenging to achieve those precious sleepy poses. I encourage parents to relax and trust in my expertise. Your baby is in a safe and nurturing environment, allowing us to capture those magical moments without any rush or pressure.
Newborns have their own unique rhythm, and it's important to be adaptable to their needs and moods. While most sessions do not require the full 2 to 4 hours, occasionally, babies may take longer to settle. I assure you that I will devote the necessary time to ensure your baby's comfort and happiness, regardless of the duration.
During the session, my approach is "baby led," meaning I follow your baby's cues and adapt the workflow accordingly. If one technique or pose doesn't work, we smoothly transition to the next without causing any distress to the baby. My priority is to ensure that the session proceeds at a pace that suits your baby, making the experience enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved.

Mess Happended!
Please don’t feel embarrassed, and please don’t panic if your baby decides to use our blankets (or us) as his/her own personal potty. This is natural and I expect it! I reassure you it happens more times that I can remember!
Please don’t feel embarrassed or worry when this happens, because they all do it. I wash and sanitize all of my baby props and blankets between each session anyway.

Extra Tips!
- Have your nails trimmed and neat – your and your husband’s hands (and maybe even feet!) will play a large part in the photos. Please do not paint your nail; it is better neutral with no color.
- Try wearing lightweight clothing – it will be very warm where we are working and we don’t want you to get too sweaty
- Please loosen your baby’s diaper and clothing at least 30 minutes before the session. This gives those little imprint marks time to disappear. (You baby will be naked in most of the shots, but we pose them so that all the “important bits” are not on display)
- Start feeding your baby about 15 minutes prior to our arrival – I will start setting up while you finish feeding and burping, so that we can get straight to work when your baby is ready to go
